Woodward Produces Publication On Airport Impact Statements
Woodward is producing a legal research digest on the significance of airport property disclosure laws to home buyers.
Developed under the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP), Legal Research Digest (LRD) 12 examines “Fair Disclosure and Airport Impact Statements in Real Estate Transfers.” As the digest highlights, airport operators have a particular interest in home buyers obtaining information about the noise and flight paths associated with airport operations before they make decisions about purchasing property located near an airport. The digest looks at the effect of a state or locality having no real property disclosure laws, existing general state real property disclosure laws, and existing state real property disclosure laws that specifically require the disclosure of airports in close proximity to the property being offered for sale. Also included are typical fair real property disclosure law provisions.
The ACRP Legal Research Digests are produced to assist attorneys in handling the myriad of legal problems encountered during airport development and operations. With more than 4,000 airports in the United States, issues such as eminent domain, environmental concerns, contracting, security, insurance, and tort liability are of particular interest. LRD 12 is written to be useful to airport and real estate attorneys, administrators, risk managers, financial officials, state and local policy officials, community and civic association members, realtors, and real estate boards and commissions.
